The combination of beautiful wood and images of nature is too hard to resist - pictures for handmade boxes, lampshades and tealights.

Seed boxes

Seeds, nuts and fruits on Japanese Gampi vellum, boxed in English beechwood with removable glass fronts so small things can be placed in with the pictures.

Lampshades and tealights

Artist Li-Sheng Cheng and I decided to try to make some pieces that were useful as well as beautiful and have started by making lampshade and tealight frames, that we then cover with handmade Japanese paper printed with my woodblock designs. Following the Japanese theme, in some Li-Sheng has added Haiku calligraphy - one from Basho and one we wrote ourselves.
