Here, I've spent some time looking at both in watercolour and graphite. O-Hisa, on the other hand, expresses my admiration for the master Japanese print maker Utamaro, who made print blocks of O-Hisa, of the Takashima Tearooms such that front and back printed on front and reverse of the paper would match up perfectly. In this print, she hold a fan, but in homage to my favourite Japanese master, Hokusai, here she feeds the birds.
